NOVEMBER 13, 2004 - JANUARY 16, 2005, PRADA EPICENTER TOKYO
The traveling exhibition Waist Down opened at the Tokyo Epicenter as an experiment in merging the concepts of exhibition and shopping. Twelve different ways of displaying the skirts were employed over seven floors from the basement to the top level.
One of the most striking spaces was the top floor, where gigantic 2D mannequins were suspended in a radial formation. Their mirrored backs reflected Tokyo’s downtown stretching outside the glass façade, creating a mysterious merger between skyline and skirts.
