MAY 18-31, 2005, PEACE HOTEL, SHANGHAI
For Waist Down Shanghai, the Peace Hotel - the ground-floor lobby as well as the suite-floor lobbies and three suites each done in Chinese, American, and British styles - was chosen to display the skirts. As a beacon of Shanghai’s transformative progress and rich history, the Peace Hotel is one of the city’s most popular landmarks. Presented within this unique site far removed from a conventional art venue, the show explored a new way of communicating an exhibit to visitors.
