Show Space
The installation consists out of a flying roof and elevated stage creating a narrow space of 2.50 m height and 6 m width. Its surfaces are covered with metal grill. Neon lights hidden behind the permeable surfaces illuminate the show space. The tribunes on each side of the runway are raised by 5 steps. The seats are stadium seats out of plastic. A cage for photographers is placed at the end of the runway.
Conceived as an architectural extraction drawn from the real built world, the installation generates associations with generic industrial spaces, underground car parks or even stage sets of futuristic movies. As Prada once again envisions a newly characterized and dressed human being, one is curious whether the space shouldn’t be conceived as an architectural vision for the built future too.
