APRIL 19 - MAY 31, 2006, PRADA EPICENTER NEW YORK
Seoul was the fifth stop on this world tour where Waist Down was for the first time sited in a space specifically designed for the exhibition.
In the Prada Transformer, Waist Down became a kaleidoscope spread over a hexagonal platform, a planetarium of giant mannequins in memorable skirts.
The exhibition was also site-specific in a new way: it included skirts and mannequins designed by fashion students from eight design programs in Seoul. In that way Waist Down aspired to integrate internationally acclaimed fashion design with seeds of creativity fostered in the host city of Seoul. Beyond the conventional zone of the exhibition, Waist Down at the Prada Transformer was a dynamic intersection of global cultures and ideas.
